Sigma Iota # 3908, Bedford, joined with the Knights of Columbus Council # 8512 to host an appreciation picnic for service men and women in the mid cities. About 60 people enjoyed food, fellowship, and games. By Scout troop
# 434 joined in presenting the opening flag ceremony. IC 2nd VP, Rose Pasillas gave the proclamation. Co-Chairman Ken Kenvin gave the welcome followed by Grand Knight, Manny Pasillas who read an inspirational message about Vietnam Vets.
The knights prepared and Sigma Iota helped serve the hotdogs, chips, lemonade, tea, water, and ice cream. The kids enjoyed lots of games including the egg toss, egg on a spoon race, three legged race, and wheel barrow race. They loved the award ribbons as well.
It was a beautiful day at Chisolm Park in Hurst, Texas to thank or military for all they have done and continue to do. We looks forward to many other events to commemorate our service men and women. Sigma Iota passed out information about ESA and had two prospective members attend their meeting the following week.
A very sucessful event to honor our Heroes and Let ESA BE Known.
